The Pitt Undergraduate Finance Club is a student-run organization focused on educating its members and providing them with opportunities to gain experience across fields within the finance industry. While the Finance Club has worked diligently to establish deeply rooted relationships with some of the industry's most respected firms, the club constantly seeks to build new relationships.

Moving forward, the executive board is excited about the upcoming school year. As the schedule of events indicates, members and affiliates should be prepared for an active and fulfilling academic year.

Lance Mingliang, President, Class of 2012
Mingliang Li or Lance transferred from the CCAC South Campus and is now a senior this year at the University of Pittsburgh. Lance has lived many years in the Pittsburgh area and considers it his home. His majors are Finance and Marketing, and in his spare time he enjoys strategy games such as Chess.

Chloe, Executive Vice President, Class of 2012
Chloe Pletner is a Senior in the University of Pittsburgh’s College of Business Administration. She is pursuing two undergraduate degrees in finance and in philosophy and a certificate in leadership and ethics. She is also a teaching assistant for the undergraduate business course Managing in Complex Environments. As well as her involvement in the Undergraduate Finance Club since her freshman year, she is serving as the treasurer for Golden Key International Honour Society. Chloe spent the past summer volunteering full-time at the Halifax Refugee Clinic, a clinic that offers free legal and settlement services to refugee claimants. During free time, Chloe likes to read and to enjoy good food.

Michael Nites, Technology Chair, Class of 2014
Michael is a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering pursuing a dual degree in Industrial Engineering and Economics as well as a minor in mathematics and a certificate in Asian Studies. Currently he is researching value creation in leveraged buyouts through the Undergraduate Chancellors Research Fellowship. He is also researching for an undergraduate thesis that focuses on the economics of corporate finance. Besides Finance Club, Michael is involved with the Student Government Board Allocations Committee and is a chairman in the Engineering Student Council. In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and traveling.

Mark Hensler, Executive Vice President, Class of 2011
Mark Hensler returned to school for his second Bachelor’s Degree after working as a nightclub manager for 4 years. After spending much of that time in a cost accounting role, he decided to pursue a true career in the field of accounting. After two semesters of coursework, he was drawn to the world of Finance after an intro class with Leonce Bargeron. Now pursuing a dual degree, Mark hopes to leverage his previous management role to aid the Finance club in pursuing its goals. After school, Mark looks to pursue a career in a governemtn regulator agency such as the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the FDIC, IRS, or SEC.

In addition to school, Mark serves as the Regional Operations Manager for Rivertowne Restaurants. He manages four restaurants and 20 store managers.

Jay W. Sukits, Faculty Advisor, Professor of Business Administration
Professor Sukits’ teaching and research interests span the fields of capital market efficiency, corporate finance, securities valuation, and portfolio management. Sukits spent 20 years as an investment banker, holding senior positions at E.F. Hutton & Co., Equilease Corp., Smith Barney, and PNC. He has advised major corporations such as Dupont, Sun Oil Co., U.S. Air, and PECO on cash management, capital structure, and capital market activities. Additionally, Sukits has consulted with institutional investors, such as Mellon Financial Corporation, Morgan Grenfell, Providian Corp, and the University of Pittsburgh, on investment portfolios, including securities valuation, analysis, and investment policy development. Held Series 7, 8, 9, 63, and 65 Securities Registrations. Some of Professor Sukits’ personal interests include spending time with his family, reading and playing golf.
